Assam-Arunachal border survey covers 2nd stretch
Dibrugarh: The joint inter-state boundary delineation exercise along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border has recorded further progress, with the successful completion of Stretch-II covering the Telam area up to the Seren Agma river under New Seren Circle in the Lower Siang (Arunachal) -Dhemaji (Assam) sector.The survey, which commenced on May 1, was carried out jointly by the district administrations of Assam and Arunachal, with participation from the border affairs departments of both states, land management teams, and representatives from the Survey of India.The survey was undertaken under the supervision of senior officials from both states, including Dasrath Deka, advisor to Assam govt’s border affairs department, and Ainstein Koyu, ADC Nari, among other senior representatives. Officials from Arunachal, including Miti Gongo and Janes Mary Tayeng, both assistant commissioners of Likabali, Tage Asha, circle officer, Nari, Pakmo Koyu, ZPC Lower Siang, and Mikir Koyu Doye, ZPM Seren, were also present. From the Assam side, Rajeeb Sonowal, ADC Dhemaji, participated in the proceedings along with other senior leaders.“The survey is being conducted in a spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding between both states. The presence of local community representatives including Gaonburas and Panchayat members ensures that the process remains grounded and transparent,” an official associated with the exercise said.
